I love Fiesta...every year My family and I have gone to see the Day Parade (only we would have a city holiday to party). Part of my family gets to our spot at unholy hours in the morning to be sure that we get our area, then the other half brings the food, drinks, and other things later. Only twice have I missed it...once when the schools made it the "bad weather make-up day" in '07 and once when I walked in it in '08.

how about..you call a convience store an "ICE HOUSE" Empty soda pop bottles are a source of income. You get a Haircut because you like the Bubble Gum..

Ice Houses,
The 7-11 convenience chain got their start in s.a. They were called a U-Tote-Em locally I believe. I can remember these stores as a child, around here...So all are really ice houses, ay ?

I just call all gas stations Valeros. No matter what city I'm in,or if it's a Valero or not. "Oh I need to run to a Valero..." I said it in Wisconsin one day and got the weirdest look. San Antonio much?

I get a bit of the opposite. I'm anglo and when I tell people I was born and raised here, they look surprised. duh, people. This is not a foreign country, still the U S of A.

I don't get it. What do people do when they are waiting for hours for a parade to start? Beside eat? I would be incredibly bored.
