Does anyone know of an authentic Irish pub that has bands that play actual Irish music? Both traditional or modern Irish is fine with me. Nothing as fine as sippin' a half-n-half whilst ya' listen to some Pogues or Irish Exiles! Live bands, specifically though.

I haven't been impressed by any of the San Antonio Irish pubs that I've visited.

You might want to check out Austin's Celtic Festival November 1st and 2nd. Looks like lots of good music on tap.

I'll admit to stopping at Durty Nellie's whenever I'm near the Riverwalk, but is it really an authentic Irish pub with authentic music? There's always been a piano player with the usual singalongs, but I wouldn't call most of it traditional. I think of the place as an Irish-themed Riverwalk bar with a piano player. My favorite Irish pub back in Florida sold no American beers and the live music was always bands with fiddles and hammered dulcimers and tin whistles, etc.

My pleasure to serve and - YES - I will be thankful for anything I can get. I play guitar & bass and have been in Irish rock bands (in the past and when I had the assignment to allow it), so maybe I can get something going there so we can get some Irish music! I love doing anything from Flogging Molly to very traditional.
