KSAT says that SAWS has issued a boil water notice for Evans Rd/Hwy 281 area north of Loop 1604.

IIRC, we have a couple of members in that area.

I've already had a few glasses. Guess I won't bother stopping now.

Our water wasn't affected, but Johnson HS was. This is an excerpt from the Principal's e-mail:

Quote:
* Water lines to water fountains and ice machines have been shut off and will remain shut off until the order is lifted. Once the order is lifted, we will run and bleed the water fountains, as well as dump the first few loads of ice the machines manufacture. We will also disinfect the fountains and ice machines.

* The District is scheduled to deliver 4,000 8 ounce bottles of water early tomorrow morning to provide to students in lieu of having water fountains. Johnson JROTC cadets will help distribute the water directly to classrooms before school. Should it be necessary, the District will deliver additional bottles throughout the day.

* Johnson Administration is bringing in additional larger bottles of water for after school practice in extra-curricular programs and will have that water distributed to coaches and directors before the end of school.

* Johnson Athletic Training Staff will pick up ice for medical use (in the clinic, during athletic and fine arts practices) from nearby NEISD campuses not effected by the Boil Water Notice.

Because our food is still currently prepared at Tejeda Middle School, which is not impacted by the Boil Water Notice, our cafeteria service will not be effected by this situation. It is also important to note that under a Boil Water Notice, residents may still operate toilets, shower, and wash their hands (given the understanding the disinfecting soap is used). Likewise, we fully expect the campus to have water service and basic functions, such as the restrooms, will be operational.

Claudia Taylor "Lady Bird" Johnson High School
EDIT - ha - found a typo in the principal's letter "effected" should be "affected"

PS - In the past this principal has encouraged we forward the information he sends out to make sure the words gets out to everyone. So I hope this is OK that I quoted him.

It's not private information and it's not copyrighted, so it's not a problem.
