I am looking at an investment property near Lackland. I-410 & Medina area. Can anyone tell me about this area? Good for Families & servicemen? How is the Northside SD?

I want to provide a decent home to someone, not be a slum lord!

All info appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

My Mother-in-Law just got mugged (aggravated assault) in 78227 yesterday in broad daylight at 3:30 in the afternoon (happened in front of the Handy Andy in that shopping center). That ought to give you a frame of reference. Oh, and she got the license plate number of the get away car. The little thugs live off of Five Palms, just a little further down Military.

She is fine - just a few bruises but for a 70-something year-old, I'd say she held up pretty nicely.

I hope this won't spoil your investment ideas. Sad thing is, something like this is apparently routine enough that it doesn't make the news.

The Handy Andy on Hamburger Hill? The one down from the Greek restaurant? In the middle of the afternoon?

I'm shocked that 1) it happened, and 2) no one came to her aid! Heck, there is a tactical gear shop just a few doors down from there. I am surprised anyone would be so stupid to commit such a crime in the broad daylight in such a busy place! I'm glad she is alright, and I hope the police are making a visit to the little thugs' house!

Personally, I would've wished she had been carrying a .44 Magnum and blew the little punks into the next life (where the temps are gonna be a lot hotter for these scum!). All the sheep can bash that statement all they want, but it is the best way to prevent crime or at least repeat offenders! I am just sorry that no one was there to help her out. I hope she is OK...

Cheers! M2
