I would also recommend the Lodge at Castle Hills.
They sell their meals by courses, $35 for a 3 course meal, $50 for a 5 course meal. Took my wife there for our aniversery and she loved it. A friend of mine just tried it for the first time last week and told me it was an excellent recommendation.

We love The Lodge, Fredericks, L'etoile, Bohanan's. What about Ruth's Chris? My co-worker took his wife to Wild Fish last weekend for her birthday and said it was superb! Perfectly prepared fish! We go to The Grill at Leon Spring's almost every weekend-we love the atmosphere there and have never been disappointed. Bon Appetite!

Try Crumpets. It's worth a shot.

We made a reservation for Frederick's. I've been wanting to try it for years, so this is a good chance!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I think that's an excellent choice! We went there last year for both my dad's birthday AND my birthday... it was that good! And I *think*, if I remember your daughter's name correctly, their private dining room is named after her

So we went to Frederick's for dinner. The food was excellent, though a little bit excessive on the sauce (contrary to popular opinion in the US, French food isn't drowned in sauces), but it still tasted great.

Our only real issue was the commotion - the place isn't that small, it's no smaller than La Frite, but they had so many wait staff constantly running around they were nearly crashing into each other. At one point about 4 of them were standing a few inches from our table discussing which table needed bread/water etc - the kind of stuff that should be discussed out of view/hearing of patrons. The servers weren't necessarily invasive (like the places where you can't even have a conversation because they interrupt you every two minutes to ask if everything is ok), but they did hover a bit much - well, actually, our server hung back a bit from our table, it was the other servers who were never two steps from us....

Overall, we really enjoyed it, and I'd recommend it to others.

oh - and Lauren, the name was close but not quite

Oh good!!! Well I'm really glad you enjoyed it!! I was going to mention that y'all should try the escargot w/ chorizo. We thought that was so good last time that we ordered a 2nd order!

Thanks for posting back!
