It is a wonderful place run by great folks...it is so hidden away I think it gets missed a lot. Also a decent wine selection to go with that fantastic food. We have a turkish friend and we eat there often enjoying what he said is the best ethnic food he has had in the US. Glad you enjoyed it!

I had to google it, because I've never heard of it. Sounds great, and they have belly dancers on Friday nights!

My cousin actually lived in Turkey for awhile. She lives in China now, but I wonder what she would think of the food. It was very similar to Syrian or Greek in my opinion. I love Mediteranean food. Their Taboule was to die for! I told hubby I'd go back just for that! He loved the Baba Ganoush. It was actually pretty decently busy for it being so tucked away! We'll be back soon!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I just checked out Turquoise Grill online, and it looks FABULOUS! I love recommendations on ethnic restaurants. I think I'm going to buy one of the cookbooks listed on their recipe site, too.

And, we are definitely going there! Maybe today?

Also, speaking of ethnic food, we have rediscovered the Indian Taj-Palace, which moved from its former location off 281 (S. of 1604) to the Stone Oak area. It is on Stone Oak and Huebner. The food's great, having a lunch buffet, too, with lots of selections.

I have to second Mela...it is WONDERFUL and they have a daily luncheon buffet as well...really decent prices and a VERY nice atmosphere.

They also have a liquor license and full bar service.
