I just found their new website talking about the managed/toll portions of I-10 in Houston. I have personally used them and they are awesome! Wish we had them here....

agree with you to a large extent texasboy. At this point it seems that there is no other feasible way to fix 281 - so I am for it.

Now it there were a magic funding fairy and the same improvements could be made with out tolls - then you would have me hook line and sinker.

The ones in Dllas treated me well last week while I was there, and I was quite envious.

I don't unserstand what is so difficult about making minor adjustments on 281? Just a few simple U-turns on a stretch of 281N would alleviate traffic on the exits and traffic at the lights.

Especially right by the HEB Plus and Evans. Not a huge change to the roads, but it would help.

That is exactly the same setup proposed for most of Loop 1604 North.

I hope they approve it and get it going. Loop 1604 is such a safety hazard, you would think they would widen/improve it for that reason alone. Just last week, my wife got in a wreck on the 1604/I-10 interchange. That thing is a deathtrap! Even the cop that showed up was talking trash about how bad it was. He was even coming from another wreck a few miles up.

It's pending approval of its environmental study right now. However, TURF/AGUA/SOS have already hinted at a lawsuit to stop it.

Wait til the construction starts, you think traffic is bad now. It's gonna get worse before it gets better unfortunately. Maybe they'll do the smart thing and plan it during the summer when traffic flow is lighter than usual.

Oh, this will be a multi-year project.
