Something's going on... I just stepped out my front door and it smells like smoke. A few hours ago I went to the HEB at Blanco and loop 1604 and it smelled a little like smoke too, and it was a little hazy looking outside. Anybody else notice anything?

It is 3:30am and I woke up smelling smoke...enough to get me to get up and check things out. It is faint enough I knew it was not our house, but did smell like it was close, like in the neighborhood.

I am in Westcreek, so if you could smell it at Blanco and 1604, it would be covering a LARGE area if we are smelling the same thing....this smells almost like wet, old smoke vs fresh....same thing???

Is it too early on the calendar for the agricultural fires in Mexico?

Perhaps a house fire. If the atmosphere is stable, the smoke will hang low.

I have been smelling smoke for about a week now. I have finally decided it is probably everyone using their fireplaces.

ha ha, nobody even thought of that one.. and this foggy weather with little to no wind would make it pretty concentrated too

I read something about a massive mulch fire near Austin late last night. Maybe that was it?

I'm not the CD SA weather expert, but I think that it's usually winds from the SE or SW that warm up the air around here, so that would blow anything from Austin in the opposite direction. However, weather.com currently has the wind from the NE at 3 MPH, so that shoots down my theory and would bring in Austin air.
