Bannwolf Library at Reagan High School Events Calendar

My daughter was saddened by this news since I've been taking her there since she was a toddler, but at least she'll get to see it again when she goes to Reagan.
Interesting, I hadn't heard that. We usually use the Brook Hollow branch, but went to the Bannwolf branch during the summer that BH was closed for remodeling about 5 years ago.

I found the schedule at Bannwolf to be very confusing. I can imagine it wasn't very convenient for mothers of young children north of 1604 to be excluded from their closest library during the day on school days. Still, it was a novel experiment and a rare instance of the city and a school district cooperating in a sustainable, public way.

I say "thanks for being there" to the Bannwolf library, but I will definitely be showing up at our new library on 5/7! It was a major PITA to 1. drive to (Huebner gate - open or not?), 2. Walk to - from the car to the door of the library was quite a hike in 100 degree weather. Once I took my kids, walked to the door, and the library was closed. I was about to cry. And yes, a big pain when my youngest was 2 when we first moved here. That was 5 years ago, and I should have gone to the Cody branch instead but didn't know any better. I already have books to return to the new library, since I haven't wanted to drive to either Brookhollow or Cody to return them...

I enjoyed the Reagan library very much, but that hike from the parking lot to the door in a 100 degree weather was horrible, I agree! Went to the goodbye party today and that's what I told the kids -- that this would be the last time we had to make this long walk.

Excited for new one to open!! Hope they offer the same programs / shows, etc.

I hear you... I experienced all of that during the summer I had to use the Bannwolf branch.
