Keeping this forum specific: What are some things around San Antonio that you haven't done that you'd like to do this year?

My son mentioned that there's a kid in his class that's lived here all his life that's never been to the Alamo!! We've only been here a few years and only have a few months left. Here's a few things I'd like to do before we leave:

Go Downtown for First Friday
Visit the McNay Museum
See the inside of the Govenor's Palace
Hike/bike the Mission Trail

And regionally-specific:
Take my son to Big Bend for some camping/hiking!

anyone else?

Be sure to make it to the Houston Street Fair, the LAST Saturday of the month. it's more a family affair than First Friday. And do the Alamo at the same time. Cover 2 items at once.

Yeah, I've actually done both and I agree they are not to be missed. Below is just my list of things I haven't done yet.

How 'bout you? Anything you haven't done/seen in SA that you keep saying you'll do "next year?"

Go to the Witte.

Oh, and First Friday is ok with families earlier - like 6ish, though it's ok later too, just more kids out earlier. We always bring our little one.

i really want to go and do the Missions trail thing --- i am 38 yrs old, have lived here my whole life and never done this ---

i also want to go and do the McNay properly, meaning just me and dh, no kids, where we can really look and appreciate the art --- the last time dh and i went to the McNay it was to chaperon our then 4th graders field trip and well, yeah, no art appreciation there with a bunch of 4th grade boys running around and snickering at the nudes...

regional...i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to the Texas State Fair in Dallas this year...

My goal for the year is to try a new Fiesta activity - I try to do one new one every year (even though at this point, that means finding an old one to drop, which makes me sad).

I also want to do First Friday and the Houston Street Fair more regularly - right now we get there maybe 5 or 6 times a year.

Houston Street fair always sounds like so much fun. I can never find anyone to go with me though. I have 12 months though! And to go to a fiesta event. I haven't been to one of those since high school.

And to try the night life a little more. I've only done things close to me, which is limited. I've always waned to go to a Current party. I've heard those are fun.

I think those are more things I'd like to do then new year's Resolutions....my New Year's Resolutions aren't San Antonio specific, more me specific.
