I am in the process (again) of searching for a doctor. I am looking for a GP that has a family practice and is serious about it. I changed doctors about a year ago after a series of aggravating episodes dealing with everyone from the office help, to billing and finally to the medical staff itself led me to believe I was dealing with a building full of bumbling idiots. This doctor and company had multiple offices in San Antonio and surrounding areas. I started my first visit with my new doctor with an annual physical and it went pretty well. The doctor even called me personally with my lab results apparently as standard procedure. Of course this was in a Family Medical Center located in a major hospital system and there were many other doctors, PA's and medical students also working in this office. Now that the honeymoon is over every appointment has to be rescheduled or I have to see some other doctor or a PA due to the fact that my doctor only sees patients 2 days out of the 5 day week. He's too busy to see his patients. I am getting tired of getting my medical care through the McMedical Centers. I have very good insurance so that is not an issue. Can anyone recommend a doctor hear in town that has his own practice and sees his own patients? I can understand having a PA to handle some of his light work but I don't want a doctor who just wants to be the CEO.

Not sure what area of town you live on, or what area you are looking for. My Dr. is, and has always been awesome to me. He is located in the Santa Rosa offices off Highway 151 and Wiseman. There are Dr.s in those offices waiting for the full hospital to be built. Any time he orders blood work down, the lab is just down the hall. Never had anything but great service from them. His name is Nick Augilar. Not sure if him being a male is a deal buster, but I'm sure you can find a Dr. in that office. Good luck! I know what its like to have a Dr. that just does not seem to care anymore about what it is to be a Dr.

We see Dr. Geralde over in Stone Oak and he is wonderful! We always get in promptly to see him and he is great with every member of our family. (Dr. Earp is one of the other Dr.s in the practice. We have seen him a couple of times and like him also.) The staff, especially the nurses and lab tech (I think that is what he is) are always very friendly. I can't recommend Dr. Geralde enough!

Edited to add the link.

That's probably where MY doctor is 3 days out of the week! I am with Santa Rosa also but downtown. The 151/Wiseman would be a lot more convenient though. I'm afraid once that hospital is built the situation will be the same as I'm seeing now. BTW, I am male also (snappyBOB) so male doctors are OK. I've also had female doctors. Gender's not an issue for me. At least not with doctors.

I see Dr. Koretsky at the UT Health Medicine clinic in the 151/Wiseman location in the Santa Rosa building. She is very knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. Good luck!
