I guess mine won't do anything this year. Oh well, my pear tree has little fuzzys all over it.... Nothing on the rose of Sharon's yet. They still look like a stick.

Cleveland Ornamental Pear Flowering Tree these sound and look like what I like

I love Crepe Mrytles (favorite back home) but really want the tree not a bush, not a shrub...

want to put flowers underneath that do shade or partial shade, place a beautiful chair there, that I can curl up and read, have a pond nearby (man made small) so I can capture the essence of home!!!

Thats them! Aren't they gorgeous? The have a tendency to branch out kind of low, so if you want to be able to stand under the tree be sure to keep the lower branches pruned as it grows.

Sounds like a lovely yard you're planning!

Sounds nice! Good luck, I'm sure you'll get it just the way you want it.

With all my oak trees dying we are always on the look out for some new trees to plant. Your picture looks a lot like my pear tree but my branches are higher and your tree is huge! Mine is only about 7 years old but i love watching it change colors. it's right in few of the kitchen window.
