Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any auto body repair shops (possibly specializing in Honda cars) that they have used before. Or even any "mom and pop" repair place that you are familar with. I need to fix my car's hood latch and I really don't want to go to a dealership. They always seem to rip me off, no offense. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What part of town are you in? If you are in the NW area, and near 1604 and Culebra, I would recommend MD Automotive on 1560 just off of Culebra outside of 1604 (7454 FM 1560 N, 688-3286).

They replaced the door handle on my old car and I went to them for exactly the same reason as you...I didn't want to be overcharged by the dealer! They do excellent work and stand behind it. I now use them exclusively.

Talk to Chris, he will take good care of you!

Cheers! M2

Thanks for the advice! I live off Blanco and Bitters, so it's not terribly far. I might try them out.

I'm not bashing here...just a consumer warning. Do not go to Extreme Collision on Nacogdoches.....fka Star Collision. Don't be fooled by any claims to change in ownership. Maybe on paper only....

I've had good experience with Jack's Paint Place in Converse. My car went in for collision repair which I'm picky about.

If you're just replacing the hood latch and there's no sheetmetal damage, I would think that almost any garage would be fine.

Ditto on Jacks! I know several reputable auto repair shops that recommend Jacks for body and paint work.

Laredo Paint and Body is just down the street from you (airport side of Nakoma). They do all the body work for the Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes dealerships in town. While I have taken several cars to them over the years and they are capable of doing excellent work, I have noticed them slipping a bit. Perhaps they simply have too much work to do? It seems just about every business ain't what it used to be nowadays.

I'd still use them before anyone else in town. Just be sure (as with any other shop) to give the car a good look over upon picking up the car. If something ain't right, they redo whatever you're not happy with.

Default Thank you

I was going to start a new thread asking about body shops. Then I did a search and found this. I'm going to try Jack's Paint place. I'll report back on how they did.
