Tito's is the best!! Everyone talks about Rosario's but the food was just ok and way overpriced. Tito's has excellent carne mexicana and all the enchilada's are to die for...cheese, chipotle and cilantro cream! Yum! They also have HUGE frozen margaritas (and strong) for about $6 during happy hour. The breakfast tacos are delicious too! One time we had a one of their appetizer platters...I think it was about $9 and fed 3 people!

Took the gf to Oloroso last week, the food was very good. The decor is very nice and there were only a few couples in there. I had the lamb and it was cooked perfectly and she had the rabbit leg. The house cured meats with homemade pickles and mustard was great also.

I live right off S. Alamo. The very best food in the entire area, without question is the La Tuna Grill. The prices are incredibly reasonable (everything under $10 except for the occasional special...Mahi Mahi, coffee-rubbed New York Strip, etc...) The staff is really friendly and helpful. You can either sit inside (small area to eat) or outside under the large pecan trees. You can also bring your dog. The food is as good, if not better, than some of the high end restaurants in town and is definitely the best food in South Town. La Tuna Grill Welcome You

Tito's is always mediocre at best. Madhatter's is terribly bland and overpriced for everything except their great dessert selection. El Mirador is a San Antonio institution and is delicious. The caldo (served only on Saturdays) is delicious. La Foccaccia is terrible. I don't know one person who lives in this neighborhood who goes there. Rosario's is good, although overpriced like food on the riverwalk and unless you are with only one other person the noise is unbearable and you won't be able to hear anyone at the table. China Latina is fine, nothing special. Casbeer's has amazing hamburgers and onion rings. Several of my friends love the frito pie. You can sit outside at Casbeer's and bring your dog there too...great on a spring day.

Do you live in one of those beautiful historical homes?

Thanks for the suggestions!
