that is unfortunately true, but you can do more about the bad. I personally feel the area LE is out of control and that is a sign of a leadership failure. Someone needs to clean house and put someone in that will call a spade a spade and actually do something about it. Getting your face on camera and being seen all over the place is not the primary role of any leader, unless you're a dictator..

Saw a teaser on TV last night for local news station doing an interview with McManus regarding the high number of accidents that SAPD vehicles are involved in due to high rates of speed. Can't remember which station, but I want to say KENS. Anyone else have more info about it?

And, just found this (from December): Rules urge safety over speed (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/Rules_urge_safety_over_speed.html - broken link)

I found this relevant: "if emergency vehicles, such as police cruisers or ambulances, are forced to speed, they must “not endanger life or property,” according to section 546.001 of the state code".

the cop's dad beats up a guy in his 80's and the cop beats up a guy in his 60's.. the apple obviously fell in the exact same spot for these two.

if I have time, I'm going to try to find statistics that tell how many arrests there are of cops in the big cities. SA has to be at the top of that list..
The interesting thing was the officer was booked on a felony at midnight and released on bond at 1:30 AM. Any lawyers out there, and if so, do their clients get such a hastened release?

Did any of the cops look like Farva from Super Troopers?

How so? Driving is driving, and as one who does travel to Europe a lot (as well having lived there on numerous occasions), I can tell you that the comparisons are realistic. Speed does not equal unsafe, but lack of attention while driving (at any speed) is. I would much rather see enforcement of other laws such as keeping right except when passing, using turn signals, etc than the simple revenue-generating speeding tickets. Also, it would be nice if Texas passed a law that prohibited cell phone use while driving. That is the norm in Europe and it deters the idiots that so everything else in car except pay attention to their driving.
