Meat tenderizer is the key, it breaks down the proteins in the venom. I got stung right on the knuckle of my thumb, it swelled up and looked ridiculous! Oh, and hurt like hell! The pain actually went up my arm a bit, so I was afraid that I may have had some allergic reaction to it, but looking back it was probably just the venom working it's way up my arm. Yay.
I got stung once on my neck, right in the front. Talk about PAIN!!! Thank God I'm not allergic.

Oh yea, I've also heard that Copenhagen helps with the stinging, but IDK??? That is what my dh used once but he is a baby and kept complaining so I'm not sure, LOL~

A cow-orker just gave me a Salad Creations menu. Can't wait for them to open! The salads sound delicious and are very reasonably priced. Plus, they have 2 carb-free salad dressings and a few low- or reduced- fat dressings.

Well..... it is taking longer to heal than I thought it would. I took the splint off last weekend but it started swelling. So, now I just have tape on it to keep the swelling down, it sure does hurt like a motha if I bump it on something though.
Now, I am wishing that I would have gone to the specialist like the doctor told me. Oh well, it will never be the same as before.

Thanks for asking!!

Has anyone ever been caught on the train tracks at 281 and Jones Maltsberger Rd by the Quarry when a train is coming. It comes so suddenly and the angle of the tracks makes it hard to see if anything is coming until you are actually on the tracks.

I see it very regularly, and there is nothing for it because the lanes merge and traffic gets pretty dense.

I've wondered about those tracks....looks scary, but I've never been caught in it.

Ewwwww, the guy that does the My Econo Eyeglasses....creepy. I have my TV muted and looked up and saw his commercial playing. That's one weird dude. He loves his bling, though. He's probably a really nice guy, but wow, I would never buy my glasses from him (if I wore them, anyway). So, he hasn't lost anything from me, but he creeps me out.

Yea, that's a big lesson learned for me, as well. Last year I was cleaning my garage and dropped a heavy metal ladder on my ankle....and I was wearing sandals...

Next thing I know, I start feeling this tingling sensation and look down and...saw....flap of skin open with white bone in plain view. Being the tough guy I thought I was, I dragged my foot to the bathtub, leaving a long winding trail of blood behind me, and began to cautiously clean the wound. Finally my dad came into the room and I showed him the wound and he nearly fainted and said, "OH SH*T WE GOTTA GO TO THE ER!"

I was just going to put a huge band aid on it, lol. Went to ER and got it all stitched up, but I didn't do my follow up visit...and so the wound didn't heal properly and now it's an ugly scar from not healing properly. To make matters worse, it got infected a few weeks later (I didn't take the antibiotics) and I went to the ER AGAIN for chest pains...they thought I was having a heart attack (not to mention it was 1am in the morning) and so they did a cardiac catheretization and stuck a tube from my hip area to my heart valve so they could see my heart condition. All I remember is watching the hallway lights go past me in a blur as they rushed me from one room to the next. A few minutes later the doctor comes into the room smiling and says nothings wrong, just got a little infection near the heart, but they didn't know where it came from. Later determined it was from my ankle injury..lol. And now I know what heart attack victims go through when they suffer from cardiac arrest.

So, the moral of the story? Take care of your injuries!

*PS, Hospital Bill was $23,000 for 1 day stay + services. This time I nearly had a heart attack for real....

You guys are nuts. I go to the doctor if a FRIEND of mine is sick. I'm whatcha call a hyperhypochondriac with great health insurance.

Glad your leg didn't fall off, TexasNick. When God only gives you one or two of something, you really need to take care of them, k?
