Oh, it would have been me if I had been the one that found it!! I don't have a problem killing something that would hurt me or my loved ones. People or pets. Hubby is the soft harted one in this tribe.

We have friends that live on a ranch near College Station. They are on about 1200 acres. Their whole community has had big problems this summer with coral snakes. The local park ranger said they are seeking shade and cooler temps which they find near houses....BUT they don't like water. He said for anyone that wants to garden, to turn on the sprinkler first and they'll take off. They just prefer it cooler and dry.

Camper...I am so laughing at you....being "Camper" and all....and you freaking about a snake. Not that it doesn't make sense....coral snakes are bad news...but I would expect you to be used to all those critters. Meh....

I suppose there are some critters that you never get used to. Those poor people in the scorpion thread. I hate freaking scorpions, but some of those stories are making my toes curl! I can't imagine what new people here are feeling!

Dolling....you don't "lunch". My word....what kind of suburbarbarian are you??

I feeling like lunching on the river this week. Tini's too....and after shopping....and before too. It's an event....lunching....let's all do it.

Jules...that reminds me of "motoring". I used to read that in the newspaper archives a lot. It was so much more elegant to motor out to the country home instead of takin a trip.

And they used to describe what everyone would wear when they motored somewhere. Those lovely dotted swiss frocks trimmed in cherry red satin and accented with rosebud red buttons with a rhinestone center. Of course the passengers would cover upswept coiffures with Italian lace and silken ribbons. What a happy crew enjoying the season's lovely spring weather!

Just watch out for scorpions and coral snakes. They don't match the ensemble...

Are you sure it was a Coral snake, Camper? There are several that look just like a Coral snake. Either way, I stomp on 'em all....ask questions later.

At the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum in Austin, they have an amphitheater that shows footage of various parts of Texas (I think) and one scene had a coral snake....and get this...they actually have something IN YOUR CHAIR that hisses like a snake and shakes during that scene...freaks people out every d*mn time. That's worth the ticket right there...I wonder if it's still there....or if too many people had heart attacks.

wCat...1200 acres? WOW...can I land there? lol. Take care.

Scorpions are the norm around here, snakes are something else! That and those stinking feral hogs! I hate those things.
