The future doesn't look good if you spend a lot of time online and multi-task.

The brain is losing its thinking capacity if you stop reading traditional books...you know..those things that smell like old paper and give you paper cuts! The way we write and talk is also being affected. Ever talk to a teeny-bopper these days? Try not to cringe when the word "like" is mentioned more than twice.

I don't expect everyone to write so eloquently like our forefathers did during the time of the US Constitution. There were no schools or colleges. People did not get education from a University, but they still read. Heck, George Washington made 2 kids generals during the Revolution because they were the only ones that could read from that sad batch of ragged laymen that mustered to the call for volunteers in the 18th Century.

So, I hope you all are reading some good books lately.

This really is interesting Nick. We've been discussing this in class because a lot of universities (traditional and online) are adding e-textbooks. I really hate it because I don't like to read lengthy text on the computer. We can always print it out if we want, but the wear and tear on the printer, plus paper and ink adds up in addition to the cost of the online textbook.

It's really something everyone should be conscious of because it can sneak up on you. I can't imagine being without books. (and my maps )

Hey, when you click on the groupon link on my fb page, does it go to "my" groupon page? That's what it seemed like it was doing here. I may need to take it off my fb, too.
No, it goes to the groupon site.

Actually, after Santa dropped off my son's iTouch, I have seriously considered getting one of my own.......then the iPad comes along....I need to look into that a little more. I <3 Apple!!!! OMG it's amazing stuff. If only the iPhone was available on ANY company besides AT&T. AT&T is the absolute worst out there for dropped calls.....worse than Pocket and Cricket combined.

YEP! 100% agree! Weird, tho, I do get less dropped calls on my iPhone than any of my other phones I had (and that my kids have now). Weird. I <3 Apple, too!! Seriously want the iPad! It just looks SO cool!!!! I haven't researched it at all, wondering if the internet service is only gonna be available thru AT&T for that device, too????? That thing totally looks like an iPhone on steroids! I want it SOOOOO bad!!! hee hee hee hee hee!

What is going on this week? People have gone absolutely insane. The mother who killed her two toddler sons, the man that shot his wife, City Services picking up trash, and just drive over two homeless men they thought were TRASH??? Do they normally drive over trash? And more and more.....very tragic week in SA....

I don't know about you guys, but I cant' do EVERYTHING online anymore like I used to. I get burned out easily nowadays. I find myself relying too much on gadgets. When I first moved to SA I had a GPS that I used for EVERYTHING. I even caught myself loading waypoints just to go to the local grocery store...and I was not memorizing the street names. Once my GPS lost battery power and I got lost on 410. A friend called me and asked how to get to my house. I realized I didn't know what to say...I had relied on my GPS too much. Sad. I even removed the GPS from my airplane and now I see things I've been missing for years.

BTW, the sun is out!!!!!! Suddenly my headache just went away, too!

Getting lost on 410 is a beautiful thing. Just keep going, and you will eventually get where you're supposed to be.

Do you have a link for that sun you speak of?
