Here are my only two other dealership postcards both from the 1960s and later. They aren't much help but are fun to see again. Anybody else got some?

Seeing that postcard of North Star Dodge reminded of when I worked there in the make ready dept as a teenager. This was around 1970-71. For some reason, they let me put the cars on the showroom floor. But then after there was nothing but Super Bees, Challengers, Charger RT's on the floor, I had to go back to the station wagons, four door "family" type cars. And, I met Shirley Muldowney there when she was on a promotion tour.

Cha-Cha Muldowney was one of my heroes back then. Did you get a snapshot with her?

After all these years, North Star Dodge has been in the same place since 1967, and basically looks the same as it did then. Most other places have moved/closed.

I forgot to mention that when Shirley Muldowney was having her promotion at North Star Dodge, we had to wash a bunch of Super Bees, Challenger and Charger RT with the 440 six pack and 426 Hemi engines, but our wash was down. A couple of us got to drive the cars down San Pedro off the lot to the nearest car wash. Car wash owner couldn't figure out how a couple of teenagers had all these new muscle cars. Fun. Fun. Fun.

My brother bought a new 66' or 67' (or 68')Roadrunner ( I forget the first year they came out). I'm sure it was North Star where he got it! We thought it was pretty fast until I got my Camaro a few years later. RoadRunners, SuperBees, Challengers with 383's weren't so hot. GTX's with 426's weren't either. The Charger 440 RT's were great. Don't get me wrong none of these were family bombs.

Well ok I guess someone needs to talk about VOLKSTOY down at the corner of FRESNO and BLANCO ..They were there for a long time. Everytime I got my car back the battery was dead...I guess they were playing the radio..most VW's didn't have that!

The Roadrunner was a Plymouth. If he bought it new in San Antonio, he got it at OR Mitchell, or Jack Rieger Chrysler Plymouth. Rieger was located at San Pedro and Basse.

OK.....girlie comment here. Is there anyone here that wants to talk about ...um...let's say other GBNF things that don't have to do with automobiles?

Not that I don't love a hot ride (in a car)....just noticing a change in the direction of this thread.

Sorry....I'm ok with being voted off the island.
