Wonderland is still Wonderland to me also.

Great photos TrapperL. Where was that station...? There was one at Flores and I believe Durango St. as late as the 50's maybe early 60's.

Default Joskes's,

I barely remember Joske's where it was last, much less when it was on Alamo street. Distant memories only. But I can remember the neon cowboy and cows on the roof. Along with the Giant Santa every year at Christmas time on the storefront.
At least I think I can. There was a giant Santa put up every year there at Joskes ?
No recollection at all of Joske's on Alamo street.

I've found a few online but most are from my grandfather. He was one of seven Signature Sign Painters in the US and he was also an amateur photographer. Always had a Yashica camera with him, film, and a light meter. He'd probably take 100 pics a week of something. He and the Studers Company were apparently REAL close. I've got pics from his collection back to the early 1900's, some I know and some I have no clue what they are or where they're from.
If anybody has pics of old San Antonio, I'm game for them. I'm still looking for the Dryden Drugstore, around the 1860-1870's. Another possible name would be the Dryden-Gonzlez drugstore as the Gonzalez family of the time were a wealthy bunch that put up the funds for the drugstore. It was downtown and apparently close to the France Building. The France Building today is across from the current County Courthouse. I also have pics of that location when the Post Office is where the Courthouse is today along with the surrender of the Union troops to the Confederacy at Main Plaza. My Great, Great grandfather, Dryden, was also an amateur photographer during the Civil War, when he wasn't playing surgeon to the Confederate troops, for the extra money.
The France building located at the southeast corner of Main Plaza. Where the Post Office is would be the current County Courthouse.

I think all people in SA still called it wonderland, crossroads was a bad name. It seems with the name change came the demise of the mall.

Oh Bernie, I remember when he started a campaign slandering Cisneros. He had a place on nogalitos and then it tanked after he started talking about Henry. i wonder if he ran thinking nobody would know he was there.

Thanks Mud ! I was thinking that was Union Pacific or was I&GN the same? Who remembers Crowley's feed store on Medina. Off loaded from RR tracks right behind it. Used to buy my German Shepard's Dog food there in the early 70's. I remember the Indian and the copper theft. Now the bozos are stealing steel. They better make a law soon giving the death penalty to manhole cover thieves. If they don't a lot of people are gonna be injured and lots of taxpayer $$ wasted.
