Southwest Military Drive has always had a driving-related reputation. Not so long ago, it was famous for cruising. But today, it's famous for the gridlock that's been a by-product of its development.

This article doth speaketh the truth. I looked into leasing a 1000-1200 sq ft space in a few strip centers on SW Military not long ago, and damn, they had some REALLY high rent, so evidentally demand is high...AND I lease space in a popular Alamo Heights strip center AND thought I was getting ripped off (well, I AM, still, but that's another story altogether.). Anyhoo, yeah, that area is taking off, and they SPEND $$$ over there (well, depending on what you're selling that is). That's nice to hear though, they've (South Side) been neglected for years.

Southwest Military Dr. is growing amazingly however, Southeast Military Dr. has it beat. The growth in that area is insane, I can remember when there was nothing but an HEB, Diamond Shamrock (now Valero) and KMart, then KMart closed (98).
