We are planning on laying sod in our backyard. We have a ton of shade that has killed most of our bermuda. We would like to lay down some St. Augustine, but our neighbor said that it's against the HOA rules. I hate to doubt her, but I think that she may be biased since she has bermuda and doesn't want St. Augustine to creep from our yard into hers. Our neighbors on the other side of us have St. Augustine, so it may be alright. I just don't want her to get us in trouble with the HOA if St. Augustine really isn't allowed. We don't have copy of the CC&R and by-laws, so I was wondering if anyone here knows the truth. Thanks in advance for your help!

Call the HOA management company for a copy of your bylaws. There's probably no restriction, but double check.

Default Thanks

Finally got a hold of HOA. St. Augustine is fine, but I have to submit an improvement request. Thanks for your help.

That's a new one...St. Augustine is an improvement over Bermuda.
