So we are moving to the Sea World area this summer! I am trying to decide what to do for my daughter (4 years old) when it comes to PK. I know that with NISD you have to meet certain criteria to go to PK. So I know we cannot go that route - unless they make exceptions for NISD employee children??? At NISD is PK at the regular elementary schools or separate schools?

Other than that, any suggestions for great PK programs or schools in the area? Preferably one with good hours or an after school program for working parents?

Thanks

Look into Village Parkway pre-k program. It seems like a really nice school!
Village Parkway Christian School - Village Parkway Christian School

I would look into it soon, I hear it fills up quickly! It's not THAT expensive either. Good luck!
Oh, write me if you have any other questions.

Your husband being an NISD employee should make your daughter eligible for the ECC program. The schedule is 6:50 am to 5:20 pm. I DM'd info (with links) to you. Hope it helps.

So I found out that we were #287 on the waiting list for the ECC program at NISD. There were 2 openings for my daughter once we got the call on the opposite side of town. So I declined.

I need help finding her a Pre-K program on the Northwest side of town. I will be living in the Alamo Ranch neighborhood and want to stay on that side of town. Or no more than a 15-20 min drive.

Thanks for any input

I was just in your situation! We are moving into the Alamo Ranch area as well. We decided on Kids of the Kingdom School at Zion Lutheran in Helotes. It is a 3 day a week program for 4 year olds and I believe they have an after school hours program.

My husband also checked out Northminster Early Learning Center and it seemed to have a nice program as well. Alot smaller than most. Also Westover Hills Assembly of God has a full time program.

Good Luck!

You are a blessing! Thanks so much!

Did you run across any that were 5 days a week with an after school program? Just curious

Well, I didn't check these out because I only wanted a 2 or 3 day a week program, but Village Parkway Christian School is 5 days a week 8:20 - 3:20pm with an after school care program. I think Giant Steps isn't too far and offers full time school. Again, I can't comment on these but they are options.

Thank you very much. Any other opinions or suggestions on this topic is greatly appreciated! Being new to the area put you at a stand still, not knowing where to look...It is kinda scary and frustrating when trying to find the right place for your child to learn and grow!
