OK, one more hijack (sorry)

This was written, recorded, released and a hit on the radio before Doobies' lead singer Tom Johnston found out China Grove was a real town in Texas. He found out when he was in a taxi in Texas, and the driver asked Tom when was the last time he was in China Grove. When Tom responded that the town was made up, the driver said, "no it's not..." As the story was told, Tom hired the taxi driver to drive him to the town so he could see it for himself. Although not exactly the same as the song, there were similarities at the time.
