supposedly the construction crew at that intersection hit a gas line and caused an explosion.

Ruptured gas line burning on N.W. side (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/Ruptured_gas_line_burning_on_NW_side.html - broken link)

careful if needing to travel in the area.

Not sure if I would say Blanco / Huebner is the North West side of town. This is north central on the edge of the Stone Oak area.

KSAT Twitter says: "Chief Hood: Active fire out. No injuries. About 100 SAFD/Hazmat on scene. Reverse 911 activated. No utilities for few hours. Stay away."

depending on where you are on Huebner it is northwest. I know it was fixed, but just an observation.

IMHO, I put Northwest anywhere between 10 and 281 and north of 410..with a like 5ish mile radius around it. That's NW to me.

But some people call 90/1604 Northwest.

I hope people were/are able to get back home and to work. That's such a busy part of town.

Not to change the topic or nitpick but that is most certainly not northwest. 1604 at Blanco is not even close to being nw.

I've heard 410 near Ray Ellison called northwest. That's:
