Because there was none so you shouldn't. You'd need to have yourself checked if you did see snow. lol

This year was a bad year for the entire country as far as snow and ice. We had all of two days with ice accumulations and schools closed. This was about as bad as it gets.

I own a black wool coat and it's still in the dry cleaning bag from my move from DFW 10 years ago! (and no...I don't need a new one.....I just don't need one at all! ) We dress in layers ....chilly mornings with a light jacket or suit and turtlenecks.....if that much. I've seen people in flip flops on Christmas! Whatever your tolerance level is!

Chimpieeee....come on down!!!!!

That's one of the things I admittingly envy about Dallas: their snow. Houston saw snow on Xmas Eve '04, but it didn't stay around for Xmas Day. So, for that, Dallas I'm jealous lol. Just Dallas, though. Never been to Fort Worth before and don't care to.

The Fort Worth side is the one with the most snow...

The Houston snow in '04 stayed around for Christmas Day. It was still on roofs and on cars. Everything was gone by that night, though.

It snowed big time, like 13 inches in 1985. It snowed not so big, like 2 inches in 2001. It was gone by 10 AM.
And now this may be the coldest Easter on record. Maybe 32 on Sunday morning. Big Fluke!!!!
The snow or frozed precipitation is forcast for the far hill country.
Typically, the cold in SA last 2 or 3 days when a front blows through. That may happen 2 or 5 times a winter.
The best part of winter in SA is that it lasts 2 or 3 days and then warms up to a cool tolerable temperature.
Snow and ice are not common!!!

You know what I meant. It had stopped, and by Xmas morning it was already melting.

Yeah...in order for snow to stick, a place has to have a significant amount of cold days prior to the snow day to cool the ground under deep enough.

You'll get more ice than snow. There's usually one or two ice days a year. Or at least ice mornings, where schools don't start until 10:00 or so. We had a lot of sleet with the ice storm this year.

a couple years ago it snowed quite a bit south of us. The hill country gets flurries and sleet more than we do.

You'll certainly be getting away from snow by moving to San Antonio. I would not, in anyway, say that it snows "regularly" here.

The winter of 1985 is the only time I remember any snow. It was unreal. Snowmen. Snowballs. Just like in the movies.

The freeze of 2007 is the only other major winter event that I can recall.

Keep a windshield ice scraper with you in your car for that once a year time when you will need it.

I lived in San Antonio from 1966 till 1979...left for a while returning in 1980 till 1983. I remember only three or four snows from 66-79 and one or two from 80-83. Driving can be a pain simply because most people are not used to driving under those conditions and get a little panicky at the thought of having to deal with it. And yes, many react the same way to rain.

I live in Central Texas on the edge of the Hill Country and we do have a bit more winter weather than San Antonio. Our cold spell during the ice storm this year lasted for ten days which is unusual. We had a seven inch Valentine's Day snow a few years ago that melted by noon. Three days later it was 90 degrees for the high.

Snow in SA is more a novelty. As I point out to friends who live where winters are long, cold and dark.....there is a good reason I live in the South, when it gets cold, we generally don't have to shovel it.
