Lone Star Sleuths Bibliography of Texas-based Mystery/Detective Fiction

This is a list of novels written by Texans, most of them set in Texas, but the list is user friendly, you can pretty easily find the ones set in san antonio

My niece sent me a mystery novel when I first moved here; an edition of an anthology of novels about a female detective.... but damned if I can find it and I never did read the whole thing....
Laura someone was the author... wish I could remember it...

Any other San Antonio fiction book suggestions would be great also.
There was an article in the paper last week (http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/books/Review_Milagro_Lane.html - broken link)about Jay Brandon's Milagro Lane being released. Apparently, it was a series that ran in the Express-News and includes lots of interaction with real people within SA. The story is supposed to be a mystery, though I'm not sure if it is crime story.

At any rate, I've tried BAM and B&N and neither carries it yet, so I'll probably just order it on line. Sounds interesting.

I just started reading a book last night and discovered it starts out in San Antonio. It is called "Day by Day Armageddon".

It mentions HEB, 1604...but by the 50th page..the story moves to Austin.

The book was written by some pilot in the Air Force or Navy, so his knowledge of San Antonio was based on when he was stationed here, but interesting enough he mentions basements in houses in San Antonio...I know there are a few here and there...but I would say that is extremely rare in San Antonio.
