Houston has an hip hop 97.9 the box, old school r&b station magic 102.1 which is #1 in the city and a jazz station 90.9 because thats what people want to hear and there ratings speak being the top stations in Houston, I know plenty of people in SA who want the same.
Houston is more hip hop than SA. I mean you have the whole Mike Jones, Paul Wall, UGK, Lil Game, and other rappers in that crew from the area that have become famous. I know a lot of people here in SA that hate having 2 hip hop stations. An old school R&B station would nice because I love me some good old R&B. SA has a ton of tejano stations which is not necessary in my opinion. If we can have 2 hip hop stations then we should be able to have 2 different kinds of a rock station. 1 top 40 station is enough. I remember when we had 2 top 40 stations and they basically played the same music over and over again. I liked it when we had that club/dance station before on 106.7 I think it was.

Correction...SA only has one Tejano station(107.5). The other Spanish language stations are either Spanish AC(95.1 & 104.1) or Regional Mexican(92.9 & 95.7).

Oh, I didn't know that. I just assumed all the other stations were like tejano music but their not. I guess I should of said spanish music stations. We have a lot of those here. Then again we have a big hispanic population here.

I like both the old and new formats 94.1 well-enough, although like most people, I don't listen to any one station exclusively. If I had to pick a fave, it would be Jack. But I also listen to 94.1, 96.1, 101.1, 101.9, and 105.3 often.

Looking at the music log from today on yes.com , I see no songs older than 1992 and a handful of current songs that reappear every 3-4 hours. (Tired of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" yet? )

I've sampled it a few times, but have had trouble staying with it for long. The music log explains why. This station appears to play about 2 songs an hour that I like and about 6 that would cause me to change stations rather than wait for them to end. I doubt that I'm in the target audience anyway.

haha, poker face is a great workout (cardio) song! but yeah, I definitely get tired of hearing it every 20 freakin' minutes!

Bowie, I would give you a negative post rating if I could -- for putting that song back in my head!
