Dinner at Grey Moss Inn. Took a Florida visitor. Best prime rib in the city! Love having dinner on their patio when the weather is just right and it was last evening!

Piattis - decent upscale Italian. Good salad and bread. Nothing to rave about but competent.

China Sea. Decent but mega salty and felt a little expensive at $12.

Wrapping up my time in this city so hitting the eateries even harder than usual. Hoping my belt can take it.

Panchitos on McCullough for lunch. The Caldo de Pollo is a a good bargain for the price and tasty. Beats a 10.99 burger at Hipster and Yuppy Burger Grill (no such place - just a paradigm for example).

Tried the hillbilly BBQ on Potranco. The guys couldn't have been nicer. The owner said he's going to open an additional location over by HEB Plus and make it more of a sport bar type. He will have a couple of draft beers and different foods than whats on the menu now but I'll be darned if I can remember what he said.

Bigz .... had been a very long time since I've had a cheeseburger and this was delicious! Also had a side of onion rings that were meh. Annnnnd a brownie that was really good. Go big or go home. I've had Bigz before and didn't find it particularly that good, maybe I was just h0ngray but it was very tasty this time around.

China Star Restaurant (Babcock & Callaghan). Didn't get to eat actually. As soon as I hit the door the manager said "you got 15 minutes". I said "ya gonna throw me out after 15 mins ??" Before he answered we turned and left. Such rudeness for marginal Chinese food...avoid this dump at all cost.

We did go to Asia Restaurant (Bandera & Eckhert Rds ) and had excellent Chinese for a couple of bucks more plus top-knotch service. Highly recommended.

We ate at La Fogata last night to celebrate the fact that I've finished my PhD coursework and am now ABD - all but dissertation. We hadn't been there in years! Th food was good and it was a perfect evening to sit outside. The mariachis were on top of their game, too! We'll be going back soon!

Yard House. We ate from their snack menu. We tried a few street tacos, shiitake noodles, dessert trio, truffle fries and mediterranean flatbread. All was good but the last two were my absolute favorite. I tried 3 different ciders while there. It's on my list of favorite places to go now.
