I love the Gristmill.

The Lodge, it's off of Lockhill Selma. My dh and I had the 7 course meal with the wine pairing. It was so yummy and well worth the price. I am seriously thinking of going once a month. My husband took me on Friday night for my birthday that was yesterday. He had to do something really good since he booked a tee time on my birthday. LOL I also got a laptop and a full set of Tiffany's jewelry. He can play golf on my birthday every year, in fact, I will book the tee time for him!

Pizza at Dough Friday night and it was awful! I tried so hard to like this place. We did enjoy the outdoor patio, cold beer and DH has nice glass of dry rose. Service was OK, but the pizza lacked flavor! It was the margareita (sp) very bland. Pizza was not very hot, very soggy, 3 pcs of basil total, and like I've said no flavor!

Default Dinner & a show

After dragging around in the heat at the Riverwalk ceremonies yesterday- we stopped at the Taco Cabana for lunch on Broadway. We lived in an area completely devoid of Mexican food before moving here and so Taco Cabana still tastes like the real deal to us. But, what made it an interesting stop was that this guy who goes by the "birdman" was there- he had three different beautiful parrots on the patio and a flying squirrel. So it was like being at a wild life- dinner show. The squirrel landed on me and was such a soft, gentle sweet creature. The guy does openings like the Riverwalk and kids parties. Nice man- you could tell he really loved those animals. I noticed that everybody at the restaurant were smiling and also enjoying the added benefit of the show.

Yes, us meat-lovers are an evil bunch! There is not enough meat on a parrot OR a squirrel, which is why they remain safe to this day.
