My anniversary is coming up in August and my wife and I want to spend a weekend in San Antonio. Any ideas on what to do. Trying to keep it romantic and fun. Any ideas would greatly help! Thanks in advance!

Stay @ the Hotel Valencia, eat at Citrus, go up the Tower of Americas, have drinks @ Swig or Zinc, and take the Rio Taxis as far up and down the river as you can

Romantic and fun? What is your idea of fun? Well what do you guys "usually" like to do?

If into history, try the Alamo and the Governors Mansion or perhaps some of the other missions.

Into the bizarre? Try a ghost tour.

Like to relax? Stay at the Westin, hit up the pool and spa. Or stay at the Fairmont and eat at Luca.

Have an interesting sense of humor? Wax Museum and grab a bite at Dick's.

Definatley take a tour of the river on a barge cruise.

SA is a great "weekend getaway" city, so have fun!

This is what we did last year (It's my post from last year so the tenses might not make sense)

I gave my husband a card that had times and addresses and he had to use his gps device to get us to each one on time.

1. Jim's for breakfast: Pretty self-explanatory. But why do they have to have the nasty smoking room at the location at Bandera and 1604?

2. Massage Heights: One hour massage, $39.99 per person. It was great for the price, but next visit goes up to $80 per person. Not sure how often I'll return at that price. I got the relaxing massage, and hubby got stress relieving massage, he is still in pain.

3. Wine Werks on Stone Oak Pkwy: Wine tasting, bought a bottle called Digeridoo for $14. Its a try before you buy place. (This place has closed down since last year, but there are plenty of others in SA)

4. Buckhorn Saloon and Museum: It took us about an hour to go through. It was $34 for two people. We got a $1 per person discount since we are from SA. Ha ha! It was pricey, but worth going one time.

5. Chart House Restaurant at Tower of the Americas: Food was great! We got shrimp and crab fondue appetizer, new york strip and baked potato, crab cakes and garlic mashed potatoes, two beers. It was $100 plus tax. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary. However, the waiter forgot our appetizer until our food was out, even after we reminded him. They didn't offer to comp, so that ruined the mood a little bit. You would think when you pay that much for food it would be the least they can do.

The year before we went to a Bed and Breakfast in Fredericksburg. This year we had to cancel plans to go on a casino boat in Louisiana bc of the closing date for our house, so instead we are taking my goddaughter to Fiesta Texas (Kind of dreading it, haha!)
