Not sure what a cat would run, but they seem very reasonable. Lucky costs under $40 for a wash/cut/nail trim. Granted, he is a small poodle, but it might give you an idea. I know when mom used to take him to Petsmart it ran about $50 for the same service.
Yes, you're right...sorry I was at work where my brain is not at full capacity. I pay $25 for my Bassett and that includes nails, ears, teeth!, and a wash/dry. I don't know what a cat would run you, but I'm sure it's reasonable.

LOL, no problem! I just didn't know if maybe there was a different place.

What are you guys paying to get your cat shaved?

I shave my Maine Coon and it usually runs me $65 depending how matted she is. I love seing the reaction on my other cats faces when my cat comes home shaved like a Lion. They don't even know who she is.

I took my cat to a vet by Stone Oak to get groomed, and they raked me through the coals as they required a bunch of shots she really did not need being an inside cat.

I need a new place too.

That's about the going price...give or take a few $$$$. Mine are Maine Coons as well but they aren't matted. They just have a lot of long fur and start shedding when it warms up.

The Cat House didn't require shots...but I was surprised. Even being indoor, taking your pet to the vet exposes them to viruses....I think it's a city ordinance for all pets. But yes, highway robbery.

I'm curious whether you were able to make an appt. (did she call you back?) and also what she'll charge. I can not for the life of me remember her name--I'm bad about that! She's really sweet, though.

No call back yet, but I'll try again in a little bit. I'm confused...are there two locations? Same name? I called 647-1129....didn't have my contacts in so I didn't notice the "tails" vs "trails" I'll go back and see what the actual address was.

Thanks, yeah it was a $200 mistake taking her to the Vet - you live and you learn.

That number is the one on Timber Path and Tezel on the NW side. It's in a little strip center (very old one) with a gas station on one end and a hair salon on the other.

Default Warning

I saw this thread and just wanted to make sure that everyone knew that the Petco at Bandera and 1604 is not a location that you want to take your cat to for any reason. I took my cat here and received a call about 12:30 pm that he was ready, I told them I would be there after work at about 3:30 pm. I got there, a little after 3:00 pm to pick him up and my cat was sitting in his cage, close to where they were grooming a dog. My cat has never associated with dogs, so you could tell by the way he was cowering in the corner of his cage that he was scared. When I got him home and took him out of the cage I had to clean him again because he had relieved himself in the cage. I was so upset that I called to complain and was, of course, ignored. My cat is usually very lovable, but for several days I could not even to get him out from under the bed. Just as a side note, the lion cut that was given to my cat was pitiful. He has small tuffs of hair all over the place and the line between the cut and the mane is all jagged.
