I'm in a bit of a financial pickle thanks to my a/c dying and sliding money to cover for that.

I know I qualify for TANF, but they have that CHOICES program that would take all day and keep me from working {I work at home as an independent contractor and they don't recognize it as work I'm told since I make less than min. wage.}

Does anyone know if you get just the one time payment - OT-TANF - if you still must do the CHOICES program?

I'm going Monday to apply for emergency food stamps & medicaid, and I need to know by then.

I'm hoping either someone here has gotten it before or works for DHS and knows.

I don't know what any of that up there means, but call 2-1-1, its the United Way hotline. They can probably direct you to someone that knows the answer. Or they may have some resources to help you through the money bind.
Good luck to you!

Hello,

Good luck to you, as above, no idea what all of those acronyms mean.

Keep your chin up.
