I've been thinking of volunteering to help with publicity for a Chinese weekend heritage school where I teach Chinese. It is a nonprofit school that teaches Chinese to both Chinese and non-Chinese students.

Question - before I take on this task, how does one go about promoting this school? Fall enrollment starts soon and I want to know where do I go, what can I do, etc I know about Craigs List but are there other sources? Thanks.

City-Data has a Classified Ad forum. Posting about it here in the San Antonio forum would be considered advertising, which is not allowed in local forums. Since the Classified Ad forum is international in scope, be sure to mention "San Antonio" in the title of your ad thread.

Thanks for letting me know. Yes, that's why I decided not to write out the full name of my school here! Anyway - as for flyers - where can I post them in places that might attract people who would like to learn Chinese - maybe in bookstores? libraries? anything else?

I would suggest contacting local colleges to see if you can post things there. Also, maybe the Institute of Texan Cultures? Another idea might be to post flyers in local Chinese restaurants if they allow this.

Good suggestions! Thanks so much. Right now I'm making a list of places where sinophiles might likely show up and I'm adding your suggestions to my list of places I can post.
