Please don't vote unless you live or have lived in SA. Thanks!

I wondered that too, before I moved here...but it's Southwest.

Given the options, I'd vote for Southwest overall. However, I don't think we fit in either category completely.

Where's the "nope!" option? It's definitely not "The South", and I think of Arizona or New Mexico when I think of "Southwest". SA is it's one "special" region. (IMHO)

But between the two options ~ it's more like Southwest. And I've lived in "The South" (South Carolina ~ can't get much more "Southern", culturally, than that!) and the Southwest (Phoenix, AZ).

Certainly not South as in "Deep South" and certainly not Southwest as in AZ.

I wish I had coined it by I will allow the "CORRECT" title to be South by Southwest.

You already said it...but I have heard this my whole life and still think this (with 33 years spent in various parts of Texas).....
Texas is a whole 'nother Country!

Just to add a bit to the topic: people from other places always seem to be so surprised about the Texas Pride that Texans seem to possess....you never hear people bragging to be from Iowa (or insert most states).

I have traveled quite a bit, and definately seen places that have their own kind of awesomeness going on, but no place is quite like Texas.

Different cities in Texas adopted different cultural norms. I think Dallas and Houston both embraced and cultivated a southern heritage moreso than San Antonio, Austin, and every other city in the western part of the state.

San Antonio, being historically largely Hispanic, has embraced a cultural model more in tune with the southwest. I like to think of San Antonio as the gateway to the southwest.

UH------Sorry, I did not know this was an option. I take back my previous post.

Goes back to the old plaque, "Never ask a man where he's from. If he's from Texas, he will tell you; otherwise, don't embarrass him."
