Hi All,

I need a cheap lawn mower, but don't want a piece of %$#@! So, I was thinking if I could find one used, but honestly don't know what to look for, and how to tell if it will work more than a day. I had considered just getting a weed wacker, since I only have a small yard, but I do live in the country, and have agressive weeds (not a lot of grass) so was thinking the cheaper models probably wouldn't work for what I need.

What I need:
Easy to start
Not too heavy (if it is a weed wacker)
hopefully less than $75

So, does anyone have something like this or know good places to look?
Thanks.

I was going to suggest the same thing. Those push mowers are cheap at Wally World.

Thanks Bowie! This is what I was looking for is a place like this. I knew it had to exist, just didn't know where. I do not shop at Wal-Mart, and will not for various ethical reasons, and besides the obvious, even a cheap new mower will be more than my $100 budget.

Thanks Again, I will check them out.

Black & Decker electric. I bought one 5 years ago for $45. Still works like new since it's more or less an electric motor, blade, and 'go' switch.

Go wall mart and buy a 20" yradman with a briggs and stration motor. Make sure on the motor. Its a push mower that is very light and I used one several times to mower a freinds lawn and it was a breeze to push. He changed oil regualrly and it has last for like 5 years. Don't what they cost now but he paid $199.00 he told me.IMO its when you go to self propelled that you need a better one like a Honda pro.

Last New Mower I bought was a Murray 22" cut 4 HP Briggs and Stratton. Somewhere around 150.00 a few years back. Looked at Wal Marts they had some out front looked like a scrap yard. Looked junky to me so I went to Home Depot. Been a great lawnmower starts easy every time. Replaced spark plug once last year. Primer bulb need replace every two or three years 5 or 6 bucks It's been a great investment. Wouldn't go to electric until I have a really good reason.I've had mine about 7 or 8 years.
