Express-News columnist David Hendricks thinks so...

Is the bell tolling for Clear Channel? (http://www.mysanantonio.com/business/Is_the_bell_tolling_for_Clear_Channel.html - broken link)

Quote:
Analysts believe Clear Channel, now with about $22 billion in total debts, will have trouble making scheduled payments later this year. The company, already down to about 800 stations from its peak of about 1,200 stations, either will have to start selling stations itself or go into bankruptcy, where lenders will put stations up for sale.
Selling assets would surely mean more job losses at the headquarters building in Lincoln Heights and the Stone Oak facility. Fewer stations in the fold means fewer people needed to manage them.

it would hurt the people who work there but Clear Channel is just a bully in the industry...
it is interesting to think that its history of riding rough shod might be brought to a halt by its own hubris...

ROFL, gotta get the message out somehow!

Really though, what would that mean in terms of the people that work in this area? It's not like the whole place shuts down and halts operations. Worst case scenario, somebody takes it over and moves all functions to somewhere else?
