There are some 2 for one coupons on their website. I recently got a mail flyer about a free dog or ice cream night coming up soon, I'll see if I can find it

Wienerschnitzel is nationwide. But the best hot dog I ever had In San Antonio was at the former Coney Island on St. Mary's Street downtown just a couple of steps from Houston street, across from the Empire theatre & St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The weiners would be steaming, even at 7AM, they would top it off with their homeamde chili and some fresh cabbage. I would down it with a glass bottle of Dr. Pepper.

If I had any money left over I would scoot to the jukebox and play 5 songs for a Quarter.... Love is Blue by Paul Mauriat, Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, La, La, La, Means I Love You by the Delfonics, Lo Mucho Que Te Quiero by Rene & Rene & The Tighten Up by Archie Bell & The Drells.

Of course this was in the late 60's and I was attending St. Mary's School. And the Coneys were only FIFTEEN CENTS!

Awww, to go back to the Coney Island.

Actually no..they are in 11 states. Only 2 locations East of TX. One in LA and one in Il. The bulk of locations are in CA.

Are the fries still that good? Gosh, the last time I ate at a Weinerschnitzel was in Killeen circa 1987...LOL yeah, they have been around a long time.

I might have to take the family sometime and see if the fries are as good as I remembered.

When we lived in Leander, we went to the one located in Cedar Park. We thought it was nasty. Everyone I knew there didn't care for them either. Maybe it was just a bad store.

I thought there had been one in that area. That's okay, I've never been a huge Taco Bell fan. (mostly due to their hot sauce)

Good times Nix54. I remember that place really well. My dad used to work at the Gunter and I used to go there all the time. I'm guessing this was around early to mid 80s. Fun times.
