The San Antonio metropolitan area continued to lose jobs between June 2008 and June 2009, according to labor market data released Friday by Workforce Solutions Alamo.


The Austin metro area’s unemployment currently stands at 7.1 percent.

Yep, people think it's going to get worst. If anything, I predict that we'll see a steady increase for the next 2 years.

I'm not surprised, most workers here dont last long at their jobs, thats why you see those long un employment lines at our social offices. theres work, but most wont do it cheap, sadly.

try living in the midwest.......or the carolina's....or California, of which the entire state is migrating enmasse to california for work.....

SA got it good...and that ain't bad!.....tourguides at the Alamo are always open for business....call center jobs.......come on....4000 restaurants on the riverwalk to flip burgers/roll burritos at......
its not all bad, people!

Houston area = 8 percent.
Dallas area = 8.2 percent
Rio Grande Valley metro = 11.1 percent
Nationwide = 9.5 percent

San Antonio's leading the state's other large metros in a good category.
