Need a place where I can get coffee and treats and use free wifi. Any suggestions near downtown?

Coffee Shop Home Page

just a bit outside downtown. It'll take you about 2 minutes to get downtown.

But there are also lots of suggestions in this thread if that doesn't do it:

The City provides free wifi in all libraries and various city buildings. I think they have something in Main Plaza, right?

The Riverwalk downtown has free wifi provided you create a username with ATT. You can go to the Starbucks there next to the HardRock..

The Foundry fits the bill - on McCullough & Huisache, about 1.5 miles north of downtown. And you might check out Mad Hatter's, too, though I'm not sure about wi-fi.

I second the Foundry, although it's in Monte Vista about 2 miles north of downtown proper. I also highly recommend Guadalupe Street Coffee, a funky neighborhood coffeehouse in the Avenida Guadalupe arts district 2 blocks west of Frio Street on the western end of downtown. Free wifi, great coffee and snacks, and it's a social enterprise that provides after school educational services to neighborhood high school students. 1320 Guadalupe Street - San Antonio, Texas 78207 - 210.212-6508 Coffee Shop Home Page (http://www.bcfs.net/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=461&srcid=268 - broken link)

Try "Sip" on St. Mary's. Don't know if they have wifi though. Or there is Ruta Maya on Soledad.

Ruta Maya shut down months ago. I know one of the previous owners, however, and he's planning on opening two new coffee shops: one in Pearl (which will roast its own beans) and the other in a different location, possibly where Justin's is/used to be on Main in Monte Vista. He's even thinking about making the latter 24hrs/day, at least for the first month. That, in my opinion, would be a very good thing for this city.
