Say I live near Churchill and 90% of people would know where you live.

North central would also be correct but it encompasses a large chunk or real estate.

But basically it would seem what you mean by Nicknames is basically a District or 'hood (short for neighborhood).

Well, yes, SA has those. Though most are in the inner city area close to downtown. The furthest one would be Stone Oak which is in far north SA.
good luck with those neighborhoods via google's information. I would suggest traveling armed using that info. I suppose they mean well.
