At least the physical issues should hopefully get fixed first (and be a fairly easy fix) and then you can deal w/ the other sleep issues.

I'm sorry! Hang in there. I feel for you.

We just started Prevacid after trying two other meds, we'll see if it works.

Does he do better upright in a carseat or with matress slanted a little more upright?

I used one of these with my middle child

He was in pain and the only way he was able to fall asleep was in the bouncer because he was sleeping upright and that helped with the reflux. you could give it a try and see.. Hope something works for you soon, good luck

We did the bouncy for 2 months, baby can escape from it now though.

Thanks everyone!

Have you read "Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child" by Dr. Marc Weissbluth? Not everyone agrees with his methods, but it definitely helped our non-sleeper. I have friends in Chicago who consulted with Dr. Weissbluth, as they were desperate to help their children sleep. You could try contacting him for a consult by phone, but I believe he has a pretty long waiting list of desperate parents. Or perhaps his office could recommend a specialist in this area. Good luck! Feel your pain!

Mimi - I hope by this point, you've found the magic answer to GOOD sleep with a new baby in the house! Our grandson is 2 months old today and early on, he had some difficulty getting comfortable enough to stay asleep for more than an hour or two at the most. On a visit to a friend who also had a new baby, our son and dil found they weren't alone and this swing (Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center) was offered to them to use, in hopes it would help.......what a swing it is - and little guy is sleeping from midnight to 7 am - last I heard It moves in a sweeping motion, as opposed to swinging front to back......and it has sounds like ocean waves, mother's womb, etc.....

Thought I would share - and it looks a bit like what you said you've tried...but maybe it will help another new family....who knows?!

Amazon.com: Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center: Baby

I do know that wherever baby goes (as in travel) - this swing goes too
