They don't have any locations in Texas yet.

I bought a North Face backpack for my son in the 5th grade....he's now going into 7th and that backpack is in excellent shape. I used to have to buy him 2 a year. I only paid about $60 for the North Face, but at this rate, he'll have it all the way through college. In fact, I bought it on a rec from a college kid I know who'd had his since middle school.

So, they must sell quality stuff--I'm not familiar with their other products, so I can't comment on any of it, but I'm assuming the "quality shoppers" that consistently post on C-D would enjoy having this store here.

I used to be big into North Face when in Alaska but most of their clothing is not really ideal for this area down here with the exception of anything that wicks away moisture (great for humid days). Every time I wear North Face pants like Bear Grylls of 'Man vs Wild' people think I go hiking all the time.

A style I like is a clothing line called Kuhl. Taking the rugged outdoor style into casual wear, but not overdoing it.

last time I saw a bunch of NF stuff was in Sarajevo, Bosnia. That's a little better climate for it than here.

I'm asking a question, not making a point. Generally I shop online, I don't like going into stores, if North Face has the same items online as in a real store, then I would likely shop online not go to the store.

IMO, no.

Very risky since there are plenty of places that you can go to and get those type of items.

And another big issue: San Antonio does not know about the brand. Would be an uphill battle to market a brand that is considered a staple in other geographic areas.

Although women do purchase Uggs, but it is a fashion trend, not a necessity. Big difference.

Why do you ask?

I personally wouldn't go. Between Whole Earth Provision, REI in Austin, the suspected REI coming to The Rim area, and online shopping I don't think I'd ever need to go to North Face for my shopping.

It's not really a good area for that type of store anyways. I don't think there would be enough of a demand. I was in Flagstaff last year, a much smaller city, and they are able to support 3 similar stores all within their small downtown. They have the right location though. SA not so much.
