Hello all ... The in-laws will be taking the kiddos from Fri - Mon over the Labor Day weekend and dh will be taking a couple of nights off of work...

We already have plans for Saturday and will be picking the kids up on Monday, but Sunday is open and we are wanting to take a nice day trip somowhere...

We were thinking of maybe Gruene or Utopia...but honestly, we have no clue...

We welcome any ideas...

Thanks guys...

Fredericksburg, you can sidetrip to Luckenbach; but for a lot of ideas I would recommend the book Day Trips San Antonio!

Cheers! M2

Gruene, Fredericksburg, Wimberley--all great choices. I love the drive in to Wimberley off from Ranch Road 12 (off of 35 in San Marcos). Going across the Blanco River and Cypress Creek, you'd swear you were in another state entirely...it's very picturesque, especially at this time of year. Wimberley also has lots of nifty shops/galleries and restaurants.
