1) Go to the Texas Workforce Center on Sidney Baker Hwy
2) Visit individual places and talk with them.
3) Apply, apply, apply.

Perhaps you should look around a little more, here in Kerrville there are lots of residential areas without a single run-down camper or even a trailer. Lots of apartment complexes too. I hope your lot improves.

I've always wondered what folks in an isolated town of just 20,000 did for a living. It's so far from any urban area. They can't all work there because the town just isn't big enough. Their commutes must be enormous. Moving closer to civilization of Austin or SA must increase your odds.

Most are retired. Others work service jobs, the VA hospital, the University, schools, etc. It all adds up. Same jobs there as here in SA.

this post was started originally in 2009--
it seems pretty obvious that since Kerrville IS such a small town--is known mainly as a suburban area with large portion of retired people-- and is not the center for some huge business--like home to a major university or a tremendous call center or a large Internet firm--
that chances of finding a job and slim and none unless you have some key skills or are patient...

From my experience, Kerrville is a friendly medium sized town. If you want a high paying job to pay for your toys and eat out 5x a week, then learn some skills that are appropriate. Get an RN at Schreiner, and you can make decent money.

Just don't expect to have a job dropped on your lap. Most of the posts above sound a lot like whining to me. If you don't like K'ville, move to the big city. Move to SA and get a factory job at Toyota.

Or get a BS in engineering and then get commissioned as an officer in the military. After you get out, then you can find one of those high paying jobs.

There are lots of opportunities for those who are willing to put forth the effort.

What does this have to do with the topic?

Hi talking about jobs my husband and I are thinking of moving to Kerrville. Does anyone know if there are jobs for certified auto technicians?
