Thanks for that site. I found 8 sex offenders in a 3 mile radius of my home, 4 in 1 mile!

I agree. I don't think it's okay for someone to sexually at any age, but sometimes labeling someone a sex offender can be questionable when, say, they were both in high school doing what some teenagers do anyways.

Luckily that Texas sex offender site cleared that up for me. One of the men labeled a sex offender is questionable, but most happened when they were grown men to victims under 18.

Divorce going badly, wife convinces 4 year old SOMETHING happened. No evidence, no history, aggressive assistant DA trying to earn a reputation. "Choice" take chance with a jury or plead guilty and receive probation. Registered Sex Offender.

With this said, someone receiving 3 years is someone to investigate and steered clear of.
Agreed. Sometimes "Sex Offender" is the modern day witch hunt. But the problem is growing. My Opinion: Blame the acceptance of porn and previous abuser ... or premature exposure to sex play a role in unhealthy mental behavior towards sex. Sad.

Well in Alabama, it's 2 miles. Seems like there would be a distance limit for each state. Including Texas.

Some of the people committing these sex offenses to children are right under your noses, (i.e. fathers, uncles, older brothers, daughters older boyfriend, sons bestfriend that comes over all the time; the list goes on. Meanwhile, all the other types of criminals, who are just as likely to do this, go unnoticed, like the burglar, the car jacker and the robber that can show up at any store or bank you are at; at any given time of the day.

And female teachers.....I hate how only men are thought of as committing these sex offenses.
