I need a haircut so bad. I want something drastically different so I want someone who knows what they are doing with ladies hair. It seems all the good salons want like 30-40 bucks for cut alone....ughhhh. I am a poor student! I dont have 40 bucks to spend on a cut :P

Anyways- any good cheap suggestions??

Have you tried any of the beauty schools? My brothers gf got a cute cut from the Paul Mitchell school for like $10 bucks or something like that. I know its a gamble though.

i agree with the beauty school route --- I go to the Aveda Institue downtown for my single process hair color and i only pay $30 ... which is awesome considering it's Aveda ... however, i have my color formula written down and i just give it to the student, so there is no way to mess up...

I have gotten my hair trimmed there --- nothing drastic but it has come out just fine --- the lady i currently go to there is named Bessie and you can call and ask to set your appointment with her ... she is an older lady compared to the young students, which i actually find comforting for some reason...she really seems to know her stuff and it seems like she pays more attention to detail that some of the younger students...she really does take her time and given that she is a student the cuts do take a little bit longer but it's worth it to pay only 10bucks or so for a cut --- i have my hair in very long layers and she trimmed about an inch off all around and had several students come over and watch her and ask her questions...in the end the instructor comes over and goes over the service and signs off on it ...

check out their website --- google Aveda Institue San Antonio and they have their prices on their site...

good luck!!!

Oh that reminds me, my best friends little sister is training there. Although, they have a sign stating No tip required, they will and frequently accept cash tips
