Going to be stationed at Ft. Sam and would like to know any recommendations on areas to live (gated community, with rec center, community pool). Price range 200-250K. Any help would be appreciated.

There are actually some homes listed in Oakwell Farms for under 300K right now, probably the first time in ten years that's happened. Oakwell Farms has all the amenities you listed.

I would agree you should look into Oakwell Farms first. Even though it would be at the higher end of your price range, the community is located just 3 or 4 miles outside the Fort Sam Houston gate on Harry Wurzbach Road.

If you're looking for something that is more to the middle of your price range, check out Wall Homes at Wortham Oaks. You can get a nice ~3000 SF house with quite a few upgrades for $220k-$240k. It has the amenities you listed.
