A short drive up I-10, 2 exits beyond the La Cantera exit is Boerne Stage Road. At this exit is Rudy's BBQ, my favorite BBQ in San Antonio, and The Grill at Leon Springs, which is a on the higher price end of mid-range dining, but is excellent - the chef's specials are always out of this world. Also at the same exit is Longhorn Cafe which is a good chicken fried steak/deep fried pickles kind of place.
