I picked up a flyer at a 1604 business, with information regarding:

The Alamo Regional Mobility Authority is launching the 'More For 1604' community outreach program for the Loop 1604 Environmental Impact Statement to answer questions, present the most current available information and discuss how to improve safety and enhance mobility withing the corrider.

This is the RMA wanting to add toll lanes. Curious how the word "toll" is buried at the bottom of that page.

I think a 6 lane highway with alternative toll lanes will be the best solution to the 1604 mess. That way everyone is happy. I will gladly pay tolls for less of a headache.

Thanks for the update, I will defintely be at one of the 2nd scoping meetings.

There is a guy around town that knows what he is talking about. He posts here regularly. REad this

“Whoever put traffic lights on Loop 1604 needs to be punched” « On the Move (http://www.onthemoveblog.com/2010/02/whoever-put-traffic-lights-on-loop-1604-needs-to-be-punched/comment-page-1/#comment-309 - broken link)

While the lights suck - there really isn't much you can do.

I live on 281 and want relief - like everyone else. But there are only a few options and all cost money. The problem - there isn't any money. Two primary ways to get it -raise taxes for everyone or charge those who use the road.

While I would prefer to not have to pay a toll - I would do it gladly if it meant fixing the road soon and right. I am more of a fan of paying for something I use than something I don't - so tolls don't sound completely offputting to me like they do to others. Plus I have lived in cities that have tolls and don't believe them to be the antichrist that San Antonians make them out to be.
